Creative Currency is designed especially for aspiring young entrepreneurs—in grades 7-12—ready to transform their passions into purpose-driven ventures. Through interactive workshops, mentorship, and hands-on learning, participants will explore the true value of creativity—not just as art, but as a powerful tool for innovation, leadership, and sustainable success. This cohort equips the next generation of change-makers with the knowledge, confidence, and strategies to build businesses that honor both their craft and their communities.
“When I was younger, I knew I wanted to work for myself; I just didn’t have the know-how or the resources to make that a reality. Creative Currency fills that void! It is the playbook!”

ULTIMATE GOAL: The Long Game | Creative Currency Campus
Creative Currency was never imagined as a one-time program. We’re in this for the long haul.
Our ultimate vision is to create the Creative Currency Campus—a living, breathing creative ecosystem where young people can learn, make, experiment, build businesses, earn, collaborate and dream bigger. We envision studios and maker spaces, classrooms and creative labs, marketplaces, gathering spaces, mentorship, wellness resources and real opportunities to turn ideas into sustainable futures.
We know a vision this big won’t happen overnight—and that’s okay. Every cohort we teach, every young creative we invest in, every partnership we build and every lesson we learn moves us closer.
First, we build the program. Then, the village. Ultimately, the campus.
We’re not building for a moment. We’re building an institution for generations of creatives to come.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Creative Currency?
Creative Currency is a 10-week creative entrepreneurship experience designed for students in grades 7–12. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, financial literacy, branding, business development, wellness, and creative exploration, students gain tools to recognize the value of their creativity and transform ideas into action.
Are sessions one-on-one or group-based?
Creative Currency is a group experience. Students learn alongside their cohort and are also placed into Mentorship Houses—smaller communities designed to encourage connection, collaboration, accountability, and belonging. While students receive individualized encouragement and feedback throughout the experience, the program intentionally emphasizes learning and growing in community.
Who is Creative Currency for?
The program is designed for creative students in grades 7–12. And "creative" is intentionally broad! Students may be interested in art, fashion, music, design, content creation, writing, photography, beauty, technology—or simply have ideas they're curious about exploring. Students do not need to already own a business.
What will students learn?
Students explore creative identity, branding, business fundamentals, financial literacy, pricing and budgeting, marketing, mental health and self-care, legal and ethical considerations, and pitching. The experience culminates with students developing and presenting their own creative concept or business idea.
What are the Mentorship Houses?
The Mentorship Houses are smaller communities within Creative Currency that help students build relationships and discover different approaches to creativity and leadership. Students are placed into one of four Houses—Lumora, Ferventhor, Nurturia, or Stratwyn—each representing different strengths, energies, and leadership styles.
What happens at the end of the program?
Students complete the experience with a Pitch Showcase where they present a 7–10 minute pitch demonstrating their idea, growth, and vision. The finale is also a celebration of what students have accomplished throughout the program.
Is Creative Currency a competition?
Not in the traditional sense. Collaboration, growth, and community are central to the Creative Currency experience. The goal is not to create one "winner," but to help every student recognize that their ideas and creativity have value.
How does Creative Currency support student safety?
Student safety, wellbeing, and dignity are priorities. Creative Currency maintains Youth Protection Protocols covering professional boundaries, appropriate communication, prohibited conduct, reporting concerns, media practices, and other safeguards for facilitators, mentors, volunteers, staff, and program representatives.
How can parents and guardians support their student?
Encourage curiosity! Ask students what they're learning, celebrate their progress, give them room to experiment, and remind them that they don't have to have everything figured out. Creative Currency emphasizes progress over perfection.
Does a student have to consider themselves an "artist" to participate?
Absolutely not. Creativity shows up in countless ways. Creative Currency welcomes young people who make things, imagine things, solve problems, build ideas, question what's possible, or simply want to discover where their creativity might take them.
How can businesses and organizations support Creative Currency?
There are many ways to invest in the experience—from financial sponsorship and in-kind contributions to providing supplies, meals, transportation support, professional expertise, student opportunities, and resources that help bring the curriculum to life. Organizations can also support the culminating Pitch Experience and invest directly in the next generation of creative entrepreneurs.
Can my company sponsor a specific part of the program?
Yes. Sponsorship can be tailored around meaningful components of the experience, including student resources, programming, meals, transportation, the Pitch Experience, and other program needs. We welcome conversations about partnerships that align a company's resources and expertise with the needs of our students.
Why should organizations invest in Creative Currency?
Because creativity deserves investment. Creative Currency helps young people build entrepreneurial knowledge, leadership capacity, healthy creative habits, stronger networks, and the confidence to transform ideas into action. Supporting the program is an opportunity to invest in young people who aren't simply preparing to participate in the future—they're learning how to create it.
